New Book Cover Coming Soon

Hello, friends. Just wanted to give you a quick note about what I have been up to.

During this journey, I have discovered that it is vital to trust your readers. I posted in a Facebook group asking for help because I just could not get ARC readers to review my book. I received so much feedback, and I am truly grateful for all of the advice.

What was that advice? Change my cover.

Again and again, readers told me that my cover did not convey what my story was about. In addition, it wasn't striking enough to draw readers in. I was perplexed, having already struggled with Canva to make the last cover.

I decided that if I was going to redo the cover, then I might as well learn Photoshop. I spent hours in Photoshop watching and practicing with tutorials. Next, I watched YouTube videos that went over just what makes a great cover. I was astonished to see how quickly book cover trends change and the reasoning behind those changes.

I will be doing a deeper dive into these trends and how they have changed over the years. Did you know that during COVID, book covers changed in tone and color to bring readers a sense of calm? I find all of this very interesting.

I am quite happy with the new book cover and will be revealing it soon. I just need to add a couple of final touches. After that, I will continue working on Book 2 and designing the covers for both Books 2 and 3. What you see on the website right now are just placeholders.

My book Let Them In is getting a complete makeover. I will be redoing the cover for that as well. At first, I wanted to add more stories to the collection, but I have decided to put together a second collection instead. However, the short stories in Let Them In will be edited for the relaunch.

I never thought that I would be learning design, but I am excited by every new step I am taking in my author journey. Thank you all for your patience while I find my new footing. I will keep you informed every step of the way.
